APRIL 26TH, TSC MILFORD NH CHICKEN SWAP:

Hi!! I'm new, and fighting a chicken obsession (and it is fighting back). I live in Tyngsboro, MA (on the Nashua border). I don't have a coop, but was thinking of coming to the Milford swap and "feeling" things out. I haven't even ever been CLOSE to a chicken since I got this idea into my head (I have been getting fresh eggs from a friend, though). Would people there be likely to be willing to talk to me about getting started, and about whether I can really do this?

Ideally, I'd love to have a couple of Easter Eggers and maybe Silkies, and would not want roosters. So, hopefully, if I really am going to do this, I'd find someone who would sell me a couple of each (heck, maybe someone would sell me a coop!

How's that for a rambling first post??--Gail

Not sure how many of us will talk chicken

most of us thats all we talk about.
I am sure there will only be 100 people waiting to talk to you about raising hatching , brooding and housing chickens.

Forgot to add: Welcome!

is there a small shed?
a garage? a dog house?

you would be amazed at some of the make shift coops people come up with , some are absolutely stunning.
1 Chick Magnets Husband is making some of the most awesome hen houses I ave seen in a long time. there are also things called chicken tractors. ( I think he has plans to make some of those also)
and if ALL ELSE fails there are rabbit cages, with drop pans LOL.
