APRIL 26TH, TSC MILFORD NH CHICKEN SWAP:

Yes, I am trying for a couple dark egg layers, probably the cuckoos.
I'll be setting 6 wellies in the incubator later this week, so that will determine how many I'll want when the time comes.... though I'd probably want at least 1 cuckoo anyway

Cindy, where in Ma are you? I'm in Spfld and maybe we could meet up outside of Milford?? it's 2hrs from me, but I still like the swap and would make the trip

Is your shipment pullets or straight-run?

i might be intersted in 1-2 welsummers (really want pullets, have enough roos already), as i could only get 1 welsummer with my order for mid-April (fingers-crossed that they don't cancel that one on me).

i'll think about cuckoo marans, not sure if i want one or not, but i know i need at least 3 baby chicks in together at one time.

Thanks.

I ordered pullets.

They're supposed to arrive May 20, hopefully in time for the May 23 swap. Sorry for any confusion. Is there a May thread around already that I missed?

If you are keeping a list, please add me to your list for a couple of welsummer pullets and maybe a cuckoo. if there is a thread for the May 23rd swap, i haven't found it yet.

Thanks!

I havent put on up for May as yet. we are still working on this weekends in Merrimack, too many threads going at oncce A) clogs the forum and B) confuses the stuffings out of me LOl.
toward the middle of the month though I will start the May swaps.

I know this isn't so much the place for this, but I figured it's the best way to reach all of you that are in this area. I wondered if anyone might be interested in splitting a turkey order from Porter Turkeys?

http://www.porterturkeys.com/

I'm in love with their blue palms but can't afford to order 15 turkeys, nor do I have a place for that many turkeys! I'd like to possibly get 5 poults so would need others to get at least 10 more total. The next ship date that they are booking for is in July.

Anyways, let me know if anyone is interested, you can reply here, PM, or e-mail, doesn't matter to me.

I'm in Fitzwilliam, BTW, but I can meet anywhere in the surrounding area when the poults come in.

Is anyone interested in two Toulouse ganders? Gus and Geri are about 2 years old or so and were rescued by us from a pond in Greenfield, NH (where they were dumped off by someone - they would have never survived the winter there if we didn't catch them). They have been living here since last summer, but lately they've been getting a little aggressive toward my 3 and 5 year olds (who are about their height, so not good). They're fine with adults, although they do make a racket every time they see someone in the yard (but that's what makes geese such great watchdogs!) They are to good PET home only, and probably not for someone who has small children (unless they're penned up - the geese, not the kids!

). They must go together, since they are very bonded to each other. I can bring them to the April 26 swap.

I really wish we could keep them because I love geese, but I think we'll have to just keep an eye out for a breed that is a little more docile toward our wee ones.
