Ok, I'm in. I've been following this post from the beginning and decided to jump in. I have 25 chicken eggs in lockdown, due Sunday. My first attempt at hatching! I have 9 duck eggs going into lockdown Wednesday. All look good! My incubator and hatcher are both homemade. The incubator is from an old cabinet and the hatcher is from a styrofoam cooler. I have 25 more chicken eggs and 10 more Duck eggs that I put in the bator Sunday.

I hope they hatch! I've been a nervous wreck! I have done lots of research an the candling pictures are a great help!

Good Luck everyone!

And keep the pictures coming!

That sounds just like mine except I put RH at 63 for hatching because I heard it really goes up once they start coming out. Were your eggs shipped?? I can't remember what you have said prior...did you candle and see the development? If you candled and saw them just prior to lockdown...I'm guess they are just slow to hatch...especially since you said you saw one move. How did the air sac look when you candled?? I know low temps cause late hatches but yours wasn't so if your eggs were good...they must just be late. Check out this site: edis.ifas.ufl.edu it is on hatching problems. IF yours doesn't hatch...then look to see what might cause it. I have one pip...hasn't hatched yet so I'm not counting my chicks before the eggs hatch!

Seems like I've been in lockdown forever. Have a staggard hatch with chickens and one duck egg. the chickens mostly hached last weekend. 8 out of 12 BCMS from e-bay and 5 local not sure what they are eggs. Turned out to be cute little chicks. Imagine that. So now I'm waiting for ducky. Day 28 is Sunday March 3rd. I know people give chicken eggs until day 25 to hatch. So, should I give ducky until day 32? My first time hatching a duck. Not that I have much experience with chickens either. It seems that my hatches happen a day late. never early like for some of you. Anyway. It is so exciting to get that peep and zip. Good luck to all.

16 chicks so far,

and stupid me. went to Buckerfields to buy feed, came home with 4 splash cochin standard chicks.

Had to work from 2-8pm, left with one bantam hatched and 1 pip.
came home to a total of 9 pips so far, it is day 20.
my buddy told me the bantam would hatch early.

here is hoping that everyones that pip, can zip, then flip.

Had a great hatch! Ended up with 10 for 10 Andalusian (got all three colors b/b/s) and 7 for 12 buff lace polish. Did an eggtopsy on the remaining eggs and all died before hatch. Always curious why that happens occasionally... I figure it's a weak chick or a deformity somewhere. After the last couple chicks dry off and I rinse out my bator, in go my araucana and my faverolls x silkie eggs!
