Did you ever get my BO eggs?

Yes Ma'm! I'm setting them today!

Did they all arrive, unbroken?

They did! They are beautiful! Thank you!

Just candled and went into lockdown within the last hour. NO CLEAR EGGS.

I have 26 of my own eggs in it, so sure didn't expect this. Now if all hatch, I'm gonna have to add on to the coop or sell some birds.

What was I thinking?

Do NOT help!! All the experienced people have said...NO. I had one yesterday that pipped at 5:45am...it did not hatch until last night around 9pm. Its cheeps had gotten weaker...it wasn't doing anything..just moving its beak open and close...for hours!! But low and behold...all of a sudden it was the energizer bunny and went to town!

I had one take 30+ hrs from pip to zip then took less than 2 hrs to flip the lid on her escape pod.

Day 20: Yolk sac completely drawn into body; air cell pierced, followed by functioning of pulmonary respiration; embryo makes sounds; chorioallantoic circulation, respiration, and absorption decrease; embryo may pip shell.

Day 21: Hatching process: chorioallantoic circulation ceases; embryo breaks shell over air cell with egg tooth; embryo slowly rotates in egg counterclockwise, chipping and breaking shell as it does; embryo kicks and attempts to straighten neck, pushes shell open; kicks free of shell, rests, straightens, dries.

>Day 21: Some embryos are unable to hatch but survive beyond the normal hatching time.

My Orpington chicks dried out! Are these splash?? I think Blue is a pale grey or yellow and I assume the blacks are black. These are grey with yellow splashes so I think they must be blue/splash??

awesome! I think they will be Blue. Splash is yellow at birth is my understanding- like the ones in this pic with the spots, bottom left in the pic.

This has been the most unbelievable weekend! I bought shipped eggs so I figured if I got a 50% hatch rate, that would be awesome ( plus it's my first time and I was accounting for any mistakes I would make). Well...number 11, out of 11 eggs, just hatched!!! 100% hatch rate!! I am on cloud 9!
