...I have 30 eggs in the bator right now. Put them in last night. I've got 6 SLW, 5 BLRW, 1 Speckled Sussex, 2 BR/EE cross, 4 EE, 3 Salmon Favorelles, and 9 Cuckoo Marans. Most are from the March Egg Swap and some are from my own back yard. I believe they are due April 4th. Temps and humidity are holding steady.

Does my room temperature affect anything inside my incubator... it is always hotter in my room because of all the kids in my class, average temp about 70-72 degrees,
Just curious
We have the Brinsea Octagon Advance.... temp is reading 99.6-99.7 very steady,
Humidity fluctuates between 41% and 45%
Just curious????
Thanks

Okay, got it all loaded, well not full 36 eggs altogether. My DIL (neighbor) had 10 Jersey Black Giant eggs. Hers are not crossed with anything straight JBGs. My eggs are all crossed with my Araucana rooster, but most are EE eggs, four are from a mutt which look like a Golden Laced Wyandotte, (dad not known), and three others are from either a Golden Comet or an unknown breed hen (black w/white feathers in neck and breast), I'm thinking might be a hybrid of some kind.

Assume lock down should be either 1st or 2nd of April w/hatch 4th or 5th. Can anyone tell me if I need to count today as day one or tomorrow? This is my second time hatching eggs and instructions are not clear on the start count day. Last time I took the eggs off the turner and chicks started hatching on what I was calling day 20. Is that right?

Okay, I tried to candle some eggs tonite, used the laser pointer like someone suggested, it's day 5. I see nothing. Should I be seeing something ????? I'm worried that it's not working. as the eggs I candled, I know for certain that they would be fertile.

I teach 7th and 8th grade and we are in. My students are so excited to be hatching eggs for the first time. We are set to hatch on March 30th at this point. I have several groups trying to build incubators but I am requiring them to hold a 99 temp for 48 hours before I give them some of their own eggs. Thank goodness for the viewing window. We will be candling at the end of this week.

i candled last night my 2 rhode island reds and we are good to go with those 2
