APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Two little chicks when I got home from work this am... All wet and tired from hatching. One more egg that I can't tell if it has a pip or not because I'm not opening the Bator right now will check when I wake this afternoon! (Night shifter) pretty excited for these BLRW chicks and one was the wrong end pipper!

My turkey egg that pipped yesterday early hadn't made any progress, & had been well over 24 hrs. So I pulled it to assist a little. Was pulling little peices of shell when the shell pulled the membrane with it and it started bleeding!! I stopped there and freed its beak, wrapped it in a wet paper towel and stuck it back in the bator. I was being super slow and easy. Would the membrane have been stuck to the inside of the shell?

If they bleed he just isnt ready to come out.zthose membranes veins should be all dried up before he goes farther.. wait until tonite then slowly try again if he hasnt done anything. This happened to me last week.

I'm having a problem with humidity at the moment, I can't seem to get it above 30% so I think i'll struggle during lockdown. I have the bottom tray filled with water and it still isn't enough, will adding a sponge help? I can take photos if needed.

It's still stuck at 30%, tried two different hygrometers and they say the same thing. Here are pictures of my set up.

I had to put the towel down at the back since I'd over filled it and it spewed everywhere.

The egg tray is removable and this is underneath, it's a sponge which is just a bit smaller than the tray you put water in, the sponge is soaked and the tray is full. Before I took Rooky's advice I didn't have the massive sponge in, it's only really added 1/2%.

This is the egg tray with the extra mini tray in the top right corner, the thing my hygrometer is on is just to boost it towards the top of the still air incubator. Could this be affecting it?

I just have to say...oh wow! Pheasants & geese too! :ya
Sorry to hear of some troubles on here though. I think most of us have experienced the turmoil of incubating at one time or another. Not much to report here, so I'm just wishing you all the best of luck. :thumbsup
