APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Don't panic! I'm sure they'll be salvagable .... Hopefully!

Fingers crossed, when can you find out how badly they are cracked?

I get to find out in a little over three hours. If they are unsalvageable then I just lost half. We had a lot of eggs but they were old when we pit them in because that was when the geese were laying.

For question one, I can tell you they should all still be fine, due to an emergency I couldn't get home for turn mine for a full day, so I missed all three turns, and they all made it! Just candle and see in a week.

If you turned them in the morning, you should be okay, just keep on top of it from now on with regular turning

I have no idea about question two, sorry about that.
thanks to you both yeah i will try my hardest not to miss a turn and
does anybody no about question 2

I have 3 duck eggs due to hatch on April 24th and 23 more due to hatch on May 6th.. They're all in the same incubator and I don't have another one to use as a hatcher.. Is this okay? Can I keep them together and only open the incubator to turn the other eggs? I'll spray the eggs that are hatching with water when I open it. I only turn 3 times a day.. Thanks for the help! :)

Does anyone know what the average incubation period is when using a broody hen? If memory serves me right the eggs tend to hatch a couple days sooner than the 21 days on average in a bator. But I can't remember.

To my understanding(still really new to this too). An egg will hatch at day 21 with a broody hen. However, with an incubator a chick may hatch earlier or later depending on temperature. There are issues with chick developing too fast or too slowly in the incubator due to the temp which I don't remember but for good healthy chicks, you want to keep the temp as constant as possible and hatch at day 21.
