I'm getting really worried. I recieved 8 ASQ BO eggs yesterday and just commited to buying 12 more Barnevelder eggs from a local source this afternoon. Looks like I am setting tomorrow.

I got eggs due the 3rd got 80 chicken eggs from a poultry show But most of them are probably not fertile since the eggs came from the show birds. But I thought what the heck I did candle some of them on day 4 most were clear I will check them in next couple days after my hatch is done for this month.

Also have 4 duck eggs, 1 goose and 2 turkey eggs due around the 10th

Also will be setting some off my own Wild turkey eggs this sunday

I have turkey eggs due to hatch April 7th and Duck eggs due to hatch April 18th.

This is my first hatching. I have 6 silkie eggs that I got from a friend in my homebuilt incubator. My temps are staying consistant, humidity is right. Today I took a look at the eggs and they appear to be developing so it looks like we are on the right road to a hatching date of April 6th. Im very excited.

Attempting our first ever incubation/hatch. Put our eggs in today and should be due the 10th of April!

watchin' and waitin' porcelain d'uccles that arrived yesterday!

I have six call duck eggs that I'm hoping to hatch. I know they're notoriously hard to hatch and my previous hatches have had some bad luck, but it's worth a try! If I get even one little duckling, it'll be totally worth it. Due date on the eggs is April 10th. Good luck to everyone in this thread!

Wow, already 3 pages of "I'm in"s!

I set 10 Silver Lakenvelders on March 19, due to hatch April 1. I also have Speckled Sussex eggs ordered. Hope they get here in time for the April HA.

I put 21 Black Australorps and 5 Speckled Sussex into lockdown this afternoon -- the "traveling-hatch" eggs --We leave for Maryland / Pennsylvania in the early am. The Sussex are for my cousin in MD where I will hatch them. I will probably bring home whatever gets laid from his flock of heritage and endangered
bantams this next week. It was this cousin that gave me my first peeps, then set chix for me at New Years and gave me 2 Hova-Bators that had been liberated from a school dumpster. Talk about an enabler!!

OK, so, I'm a hatch-a-holic. I built a cabinet incubator and wanted to test it out. #1 problem is: I can't keep chickens yet. I'm waiting for my mortgage qualification to go through. Then I have to find a place and go through all the stress of offering a bid, waiting, closing, BLAH BLAH BLAH. So what's a hatch-a-holic to do with a new 'bator and it's SPRING!!!!

I posted this on Craig's List:

I have just built a cabinet incubator, and would like to test it out. It is a forced air with room for 5 trays of eggs. I will not be moving to my farm until this summer, so cannot keep any chicks, but would like to see what hatch rates are. So far it is maintaining solid temps of 99.5 and I can adjust humidity from 30 to 65%. If you are interested in having me hatch some eggs for you and will take the chicks that hatch, I will be happy to do it for free. Just give me a call or email 651-485-xxxx. Barbara. I would like to stick to chickens for now, but once I know how it's functioning, I will hatch any kind of poultry.

And wa-LAH.... I have 57 eggs in the 'bator, with more coming next week. I finally had to pull the ad. Lot's of people want something for free.

If these hatches are successful, I plan on running the ad again....charging 50 cents per egg set and 50 cents per live chick. The egg setting charge is to keep people from setting every egg they have laying around and the chick charge is for hatching and brooding etc... If I have any disasters, then I guess I'll refund the setting charge.

I set 18 RIRs on 3/19 and 39 Buff Orps will be going in tomorrow morning. Hatch dates of 4/8-4/11.

OK, so let's get this party started!!!
