I see there are more "hatchers" setting eggs out there. Happy hatching soon to come for everyone!
Check out page 1 of this thread if you're interested in the pics & info that I just added to --MY INFO-- list for "My Candling" technique or "My Brooders" easy & quick, no build...... Will keep adding info there every month as it looks useful.
This thread looks interesting so I will join in for April. I just moved the 1st 5 doz chicken eggs to the hatcher yesterday, and bought another 9 Doz last night with 15 doz due in the mail in a week or so. I plan to keep the bator going till mid summer then stop, My next hatch of 25 doz will be due to hatch near the end of April, Out of those I have a minimum of 12 different breeds of birds both banty's & standards so it should be a interesting month.
ok i thought i was done hatching for a while, but... i was on ebay just to look and well you know how that goes. so i have 10 blrw eggs in the bator that i just rebuilt, after my last hatch. set on the 16th so if my math is right i should have chickies hatching on the 6th.
The worry is that I have been looking at a pile of lumber and an empty 1/2 acre I have and wondering how many fuzzy butts I can fit on it. I was content with 1 Roo and 5 hens until I started hanging out in BYC.

Anyone ever seen a 3 story coop ?
Welcome to all you setters that just joined in!
I haven't seen a 3 story coop, how will you get to the top level? I have a 2 story that started with 2 pallet crates set side-by-side, onto a 4x4 post built stand with wings added (food & water area in lower level). It was designed to be sectioned off for 2 seperate identical coops & I'm slowly dividing it, to be completed by the end of Spring. It didn't occur to me at the time to do 3 sections across to later section off for 3 coops, darn!
I do hatching the old fashion.... natural way with a broody bird!
So I hope one of my birds (silkies, bantam cochins or bantam brahmas) goes broody for April!
