I have five pips now that I can see, maybe even more that are at angles I can't see!

Gosh, this is so exciting. I'm supposed to be studying for a test that's in less than an hour, but it's sooo hard when all I want to do is stare at the incubator! At least the test should be pretty easy.

Mine are wriggling too go into lock down tonight my first time for turkeys I so hope they all hatch (I have 4) and black coppers. I hand turn mine and I just love the way they feel right before lock down. It seems I always have a couple that hatch early and never from the same place in the incubator as I roll mine all over it.

ArbuckleMurphy - the bantams are too cute... I bought 3 last year from TSC and that brown one you hatched out looks just like one, we named Chipmunk

Congratulations to all who have so far successfully hatched this month! And good luck to those still waiting!

I ended up with 5 of 23 from my hatch, which is not great but better than none. Here is a pic of mine at 10 days old (yes there are more than 5 in the pic - my daughter added a polish chick from a local breeder):

I learn a little from each hatch and reading about others hatches, both good and bad, is both encouraging and educational. I have put more in the incubator and look forward to the the May Hatch-A-Long and hopefully better hatch results. Keep on posting your results as I enjoy celebrating each hatch with you all as well as commiserating with each loss and trying to learn a little more along the way. Happy Hatching!

I also want to say a special "Thank You!" to Save the Favs for starting these hatch-a-longs and for your encouraging words to all of us newbie hatchers.

I'm addicted! I set 18 more last night in a bator for May hatching. I have another 12 in lockdown and four hatched in the last 24 hours! Oh and did I mention that my 12 from two weeks ago are trying to fly out of the brooder? And did I also mentioned I told DH no more and yeah then I set the 18? Help!

So happy to see all your pips and rocker's I love it when I start to see the signs they are hatching. I have the same problem Jen4 I can't ever leave the bator window and when I have to I'm a nervous wreck. I don't know why but I get so excited!!! I know... its so exciting when I see the 1st signs of hatching, then I know everything is ok and its working, lol. Still just alot of rockin going on.

Woo!!!! We have our first chick hatched!!! His brother is breaking the shell right now!!! They have two momma hens hatching them out so they are well protected. Will have Photo's soon!!!!
