QUESTION:

Okay, I candled last night and everything has been growing, however some of my older eggs seem to be behind in development compared to the newer eggs. (I threw in some eggs that were closer to 10 days old because hey why not, might as well give em a chance) Now because these eggs are older could they just be developing slower?? OR does it mean they died some point in development? Like one egg will be half dark and another I can still see veins and a little bitty body in there. They are on day 14.

Looks like I'll be joining in again for a second April hatch! My last hatch was exciting, I finally got myself some millefluer cochin bantams! Healthy and happy, more pictures soon!

This next hatch is of some eggs I've been waiting a loooong time for. Quail D'Anver and phoenix bantams. I'm still waiting for the black breasted red and ginger red D'Anver eggs. Hopefully by the time this batch hatches the others will be available. They are to die for!

Day 21 report:
2 black chicks hatched
1 yellow chick hatched

1 Zipping (1/2 already done)
2 pips-

18 still waiting for something.........to coax them out.

I also set 30 Various layer eggs (in second incubator) at 2:40 am this morning while listening to my first hatchling peeping his/her loneliness song.....

PandoraTaylor, yours sounds kinda like my day 22 report.

3 EE chicks hatched
1 Blue Langshan hatched
1 EE chick pipped, partially zipped, died
1 Blue Splash Marans chick pipped and currently working on zipping

17 more eggs watching me watch them. I have a couple of rockers and regularly hear cheeping so hopefully they are psyching themselves up to hatch.

Good Luck to all those waiting along with me!

Candled last night... only had to take out 2 eggs, yolkers, the other 40 growing great... I'm not going to candle again until lockdown. I need to candle the eggs under my broody, to me shes not doing a good job, shes on and off the nest alot so we will see.................

I still am going to wait until Sunday to candle... and though I can rarely control myself when it comes to candling, I sure am going to try!

I have 9 out and fluffy. One is trying to hatch and has not absorbed it's yolk. I didnt know what to do so I put the bottom of its shellback on (it wasnt completely detached yet) and wrapped it in a warm wet wash rag around the egg and bottom of the chick. I'm hoping it will absorb it.

Two chicks died after pipping becauce they pipped their yolk somehow and it was all over them and dripping out of the egg.(both were pure ameraucana) The other 5 dont appear to be doing anything. they arent moving or pipped or anything. I'm thinking they may have died. I will give them a little bit and see what happens. I'll post pics of the babies later. They are adorable.

I finaly got a hatch out of 25 shipped egg's I so far have 17 hatched of Texas A&M Coturnix Qauil they are so tiny and cute. Here is a picture of when they first started hatching.
