April Hatch Challenge....

So far my girl is still sitting on all 4. Though I am finding 5-6 under her each morning. I got smart and put an "X" on all the ones we started off with this time.

Going to candle them today, since we're rain free and I don't have to walk through mud to get them.

I have 12 beautiful blue EE eggs and 6 mixed EE's set to hatch on the 18th. Just put them in Sunday after church on 3/29. I'm egggggcited! I just came back to the office from lunch. Everything is stable and turned.

I have threatened myself not to candle until at least day 7. Next Sunday woohoo!

I've got about 20 on day 18 and 19, and I already have 3 pips!

I did have to remove six total (2 infertile duck eggs, 1 rotten chicken egg - not from my birds, and 3 infertile chicken eggs).

I'm hoping that we have a good hatch rate here.

My little bantam cochin/OEGB cross just started laying two days ago, and my naked neck is laying again, so I'll probably have their eggs in the incubator soon, lol.

My ducks are laying again, and I told them that they could keep the eggs if someone would go broody by Wednesday. After that, they're going in the incubator! That will be 30+ more duck eggs, lol.

I am being given an incubator and some fertile wyndotte eggs. Can someone tell me what to do? Do they smell? How long are the eggs good as far as storage before being placed in an incubator? Thanks.

I have 13 BBS orpingtons. Shipped from VA to PA. They are due on the 14th. I will candle thur or fri. I'm very hopeful. These are from a gal who has great eggs with high hatching rates all over the country.

I added some more eggs.

I didn't count them, I think there was 15-16.

BUT we will have chicks to play with while we wait for the new batch to hatch. They're due on April 19th (my birthday!)

Due date is on Tuesday and everyone candled moving!!!!

In fact, I have a second broody that just started and I'm thinking about buying some eggs for her that are a much better quality then mine and starting her on those.

Just hatchd 9 out of 12 cuckoo marans eggs that were shipped all babies are doing great, going to sit 14 BC marans eggs tonight were shipped in from TN. Hope they do well also.

I just hatched out 7 out of 7 Salmon Faverolle chicks.

Thats my 4th 100% hatch with the faverolles this year.
