Well, I set 20 more mallard eggs (due to hatch on April 29th) and 24 Muscovy Eggs (which I can't count in the challenge, they won't hatch until May 10th!).
I already have 25 babies out of my first two batches. The second batch is still in the hatcher. Only one of my first batch of 24 didn't hatch. I had a 95% hatch rate for my first batch.
2nd batch is due today, 3rd batch is due 4/7.
The 11 mallard duck eggs that are due on 4/8 had already pipped their air sacs last night, so they are in the hatcher. I can't wait until they pip!
Someone I work with is giving me at least one if not more incubators, complete with turners and everything! I'm trading him chicks and ducklings for them and I'm going to tell him that unless all of the incubators are completely full (like right now) I'll hatch out eggs for him.
I love having new babies, but I hate having to wait before I can play with them!
I only got 3 chicks out of my last batch, but they were from someone else, and with as nasty as those eggs were and as old as they were when I got them, I'm surprised that we got anything to hatch. I'm borrowing two incubators from the guy and the deal is that I have to at least try to incubate eggs from him. I'm going to tell him that if his eggs are that nasty next time, I'm just going to trash them!
One of my ducklings has already hatched, we have one zipping, and 5 others pipped! I also have more chicks due on 4/7 that are already starting to pip.

PS - I got the other two incubators and they are on and stabalizing right now. I've got duck eggs to go into them tomorrow or Tuesday.
I used to have timothy hay in the nesting boxes... the chickens kicked it out and kicked in the shavings. I just let them do whatever they want at the this point. (Broody mama does the hatching for us. No incubators)
