It was just a tiny pip. I went outside to lock the brahmas in for the night, came back, and "she" was popping out.

The one that pipped on the bottom is still alive. I reached in quick, and chipped away some of the shell. I saw a couple veins, so I wet them. I will try again in a few hours.

I'm seriously considering throwing in the towel on this poultry thing..... I just lost 3 more BBS eggs, and 3 Lavender eggs.

Hi, I just had one hen hatch out all 6 eggs, 4 on the 15th (tax chicks) and 2 more today. They are adorable! Black with a little white on the tummy and and a bit around the eyes. They are australorps. You can only see 3 of them in this I am taking more tomorrow. They are hilarious they way they walk all over her and peep out from under.

Ok... I am going to give this one more try this month. I have 3 buff eggs and 5 BBS eggs due to hatch on Wednesday.... I'm going to leave them in the cabinet bator to see how they do. I figure they have steadily grown to full development in there, so i'm going to try to keep the train rolling to speak. I'll just mist and add an extra pan of water to the bottom to try and get the humidity up.
