april hatchings everyone

Today's hatch at the end of the day ended up with 12 total. As you can see, there are 10 browns and only 2 A&Ms. Still holding out hope for some of the other eggs though since there were a couple pipping earlier. *crossing fingers*

Here's some of my 7 almost 3-week-olds that are going to the grow-out pen in about a week.
This seems to have been a pretty successful weekend for hatching quail!

I have 8 that have pipped out of ten! I thought waiting for them to pip was hard but waiting for them to fully hatch is torture! Lol. Fingers crossed that they all make it. They are all Texas a&m.

I have 3 still in the incubator that I want to give another few days to see what happens. Hopefully they are just late hatches.

Congrats to everybody on all the successful hatches! Lots of new babies to take care of now. Hatching is always exciting and never gets old.

So I floated tested my remaining three and 1 slowly sank and the other 2 were low bobbers. Fingers crossed that they hatch in the next day or so.

Yay, my first two button quails are out! I have about 70 shipped eggs but pretty sure most of them won't hatch, was very hard to candle them so just left all but a few obvious infertiles in. Hope to have enough for three breeding pairs or trios and have a waiting list for the others. So exciting seeing all the new babies from every one.
