That's great! I too only have 3 eggs due to hatch in a week, they are from my own birds would have got up to 12 to fit in my little Brinsea but they have been very staggered in laying so I only got 3 and decided not to wait for anymore as the fertility will drop if I hold them too long so popped them in and all 3 seem to be on track when candled

will keep you all posted on the delights that may hatch! goodluck to all

So fun to read about all the hatching successes here. Out of the 6 eggs I set, only 3 made it to hatching. I just candled the remaining 3, and there were no signs of life, although 1 of them had made it all the way to an external pip. I'm happy with the three new buttons though, as they appear to be healthy little ones. Spikennipper, I think I may have the same Brinsea incubator that you are using (the one with the auto-turner). This is the first time I have used this model. The 3 buttons that hatched came 1-2 days earlier than I had expected them to, so I am wondering if maybe I kept the temp too high during incubation. I set the temp at 99.8 degrees, and then dropped it to 99.4 degrees at lock-down. Can I ask you what temp you have kept yours at?

Before my son and I went to bed last night, there were 6 in the brooder, 1 newly hatched chick in the incubator, and before I could walk away, my son noticed an egg about to hatch. It was way passed his bed time, and he asked if he could watch it hatch. He gave me those 6yo puppy dogs eyes, and I caved. So, we both sat there and watched this little guy hatch out. We had a good laugh at the little chicks expense as the chick was 95% out of the egg and was kicking and chirping and trying to get up, but had it's foot stuck inside the egg. I told my son that when we both get up in the morning, we would get both chicks and put them with the others. So at 6am when I get up, I'm looking for 2 yellow fluffy chicks, and find another newly hatched chick. I had to wait for my phone to charge so I could take a picture of chicks in the brooder, so I goofed off for a while, and just after I take this picture, I see another freshly hatched chick in the incubator. So right now, 10 out of 15. Really exceeding my expectations. Here are 4 huddled together in my newly constructed brooder. I'm thinking about painint in "red".

Congrats

Two hatched so far this morning. Both browns so these are from my own eggs. They hatched a day early!

UPDATE: A few minutes ago, my son walks into the den, and tells me, "Daddy, we had 2 last night, now we need 4 more". I'm like, "we need 4 more what?" He replies, "there are 5 in here and we need we need 4 more to hatch". When I last posted, there were 4 in the incubator. Sure enough, 11 altogether.
