april hatchings everyone

15 of 15 made it to lockdown. From reading other posts about eggs delivered by USPS, I'm not holding my breath for a 100% hatch.... But I better get more than 2.

Good luck with yours, Bald. I'm trying not to hover over the incubator, but two of my eggs that I gathered a few days prior to the last have already pipped -- wasn't expecting anything until Friday, but here we go!

Wow, so many of you are so fortunate to have land where you can raise a variety of birds. We are limited here to slightly less than one acre, so all I can really have outside during the summer months will be the button quail in the garden runs. In hindsight, I now wish we would have considered purchasing a smaller house on a larger piece of land when we moved here.

Tomorrow is lockdown! I am so nervous. This is my first time and I am so worried that none will hatch. I have 16 eggs in my incubator. I will candle them tonight but I'm new to it so I hope I will see what I need to. Wish me luck!

Ha. I have a 6000 sq foot lot. I hatch the quail for eggs and meet and to sell. I hatch chickens to have fun. I sell some keep some.

Came home from work and there were 4 chicks, freshly hatched. This photo shows them 3 hours old. On the photo, you can see three; one on the digital thermometer, one on the bottom right, and one in the corner top left. The last one hopped out of the photo at the last second. Mama tells me that as of this moment, there is another one starting to pip. I hope they all make it through the night.

.....and they are hatching even after a power-outage! It looks like one is already overseeing the temperature operations for you. Congratulations!
