Hello!
I'm new to hatching eggs too and I've bought eight mixed button quail eggs on ebay, they were sent yesterday and I'm hoping that they come today but i'm not sure how long I should let them settle before I start incubating them.
I've also read mixed comments about the start humidity, some say no humidity until lock-down and others say about 45% to 55%, and that at lock-down it should be about 70%.
I'm only getting eight eggs so I'd like to have a good chance of getting some chicks!

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask questions, i'm new!
(Incubator is a homemade polystyrene fan-assisted, if that makes any difference, and the temp is 37.5 - 38.5.)

As soon as my current hatch is done, I'm setting 25 A&M and whatever else I get from my colony of browns. I have about 10 of those eggs to hatch. Should be another day and a half to two days until I'm ready to start the next hatch.

It ended up being 21 A&M and 15 brown coturnix. Hatch date should be somewhere around April 22-23. I'm hoping to get a few A&M females for my one lonely male and then go ahead and eat the rest of these whatever hatches.

Ok, my first April hatch total is 29 brown coturnix born on the 3rd and 4th. I have another set due in about a week and a half and hopefully setting some buttons this weekend.

Another newbie. :) We started really small with 4 placed on 3/24 & 3/25. They appear to be coturnix from what I can tell from seeing my friends quails. So we are getting close!!!!!!!!!
