Aracauna, Americauna, and EE

I want to apologies to the group for the direction this took, but I was only trying to help. I'm sorry if I was off a little, I guess I should have placed a disclaimer saying "if I'm wrong in any way, please correct me".

I knew Americana was spelled different. I just couldnt think of how it was spelled. I got the question across. I also understood the information I was asking for. I appreciate all of the information given. I am pretty sure my Rooster is an easter egger. Thats what I was trying to figure out. Thanks everyone.

Thanks Ascott for all of your help. I guess you and I both needed a lesson in spelling!! I got the information I needed from you and I do appreciate it. I dont understand why everyone on BYC get so uptight over things.

Okay, I apologize if my post was too abrupt.
The first time I made the same assumption I got an equally abrupt response, and I was equally miffed, so I do understand that I was out of line.

That having been said, as soon as I was told that I had it wrong, I did the research necessary to find out what the correct information was, and I have been ever grateful since then for having been set straight.

My understanding of this forum and of any other is that it is for the purpose of educating ourselves. There is lots of room for differences of opinion, and people have lots of different ways of doings things. But when there is real mis-information being posted and then spread as fact, I think it is important for the correct information to be posted/stated/given.

Look at it as a gift. .....

Being my last comment...

Did you enjoy your experience when you were grammatically chastised before, neither did I.

Without being harsh, over critical, or rude the same information could have been shared so that everyone could learn in a civilized manner. As we saw, tackiness spreads easily. Try the nice approach first next time and maybe the events won't get so ugly next time.

And again, I apologizes for my disposition I displayed today.

Denece&Lacey :

Your right the correct information should be given. It was mostly a spelling error. It did start out as my error in the beginning.

Thanks for the pass.
Your "spelling error" is a very common one, and as already noted in this thread, it is a dead giveaway that the chickens referred to really are NOT Ameraucanas, but very probably are EE's.

Even the hatcheries, even my feed store, sell chicks that they call Americanas....so it is NOT an easy fix.

I was asking about one that I already have. I spelled it wrong. I knew I messed it up somewhere. I just didnt check the spelling. Mine was the original thread.

I'm not sure if you are saying that I responded in a rude way. However I have looked back over my response, and there is nothing rude in them. I kindly pointed out the incorrect information, and gave reference to what I stated. I believe the question was what were the differences, and the first response gave the wrong information about that topic. I don't think correcting someone, and giving true information is rude. I don't think we can learn if false information is beaing spread around. I believe that is why Ameraucana/Araucana breeders get up in arms because most of the information being spread about the breeds is false.

So everyone just take a breath and relax.
