Ugh. I just found two black widow spiders hanging onto the roof of my duck coop.
I thought at first I could scoop them into a mason jar, lid it quickly, and then toss out into the area beyond my fence.
As the mason jar gently touched the web, the black widow scooted quickly to the side which cause me to not only drop my jar, but also scream like a little girl.
I was originally aiming to not kill the spiders, after all it isn't its fault that they stumbled into a nice warm and dry duck coop. But...I can't; I just cant!
Please tell me how I can get rid of these guys effectively without hurting my ducks. Thanks.

Thats what I am feeling now, after seeing it scurry about!
Sorry but that made me laugh out loud! I of course would have done the same except I would have called my husband to remove them and he doesn’t like spiders either. How about a dust pan and small brush put them quickly into a plastic trash bag and carry them when you want to dump them out just like crocodile hunter would do.
