Araucana Ameraucana strain

Hello,
I just bought three chicks from the local FFH that were labeled Araucana Ameraucana strain. It said they were not to be confused with Easter Eggers as they are pure bred. Could anyone tell me what that means exactly? Are they a cross between the Araucana and the Ameraucana or is it a breed in itself? It says they lay several different colors of eggs that include blue, green, pink, or olive drab.
I would appreciate any info anyone could give me. Thanks in advance.
This is what I was told when I had the same question. Araucana is a pure bred. Ameraucana is a cross between a Araucana and something else. EE's are a cross between an Ameraucana and something else. They all should lay colored eggs. We had some EE's last year that laid blue eggs. This year we bought "Ameraucana's" from the local Grange and they look exactly like last years EE's. So.......I have read that the feed stores sell EE's but call them Ameraucana's, it appears that is correct. Hope this helps. You should get colored eggs of some kind.

They're Easter Egger, and shame on Townline for calling them purebred. Part of any purebred animal is color, and these birds don't match the acceptable colors. Shame shame shame!!

Thanks. Yeah townline answered my last e-mail and this is what they told me.
Good Morning,
Ours are the Ameraucana's. We use the word Araucana along with Ameraucana because many people are more familiar with the name of Araucana as the colored egg layer. However, ours are the pure bred Ameraucana with tail feathers. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you!
