just got back from the vet and he doesn't think there's anything wrong. of course, she seemed 100% better today, isn't that always the way?

anyway, he gave me a prescription for baytril which I'm to give her 2 X a day for 5 days "just in case." he showed me how to give a chicken a pill and I said WHATTTT????

I'm going stick my entire finger down her throat to make the pill go down???

anyway, he thought that it was fine to put her in the coop during the day but wanted me to bring her in for the 5 nights I'm sticking my finger down her gullet!

That's good. That's very very good! Be glad he gave you the pills. It's sooo much easier than trying to give it with a syringe. I'll take pills any day. Glad she's fine.

Your story gives me hope! One of my chickens is displaying the exact same symptoms with the "honking" and now she is listless. I'm glad to see your chicken recovered!
