Aww so cute! Hopefully the mottling stays. Not a good pic, but the second chick still hasn't fluffed and I don't want to take it out from under the heat plate. This is little Mini Mano. I love the black line under its eye...looks like a football player!

Your Araucanas are bantam?these are batam birds,
Please excuse me while I brag on Manolito for a second...
The little clean faced black pullet in with Ratchet is not taking kindly to her being broody. She won't roost on the roost bar without Ratchet... she has been sleeping ON TOP of Ratchet in the nest box!!! I can't have that after I put eggs under Ratchet tonight. This little pullet has been pacing the fence ever since I got them to get in with Mano's flock. She doesn't fight through the fence with Mama like Ratchet does, so I figured I'd just open up the fence and let her in. I wish I would have recorded it...
The pullet was exploring the run, with Mano keeping an eye on her from a distance. A few minutes later he wing danced for her a few times, she squatted and he mounted. He then preceded to show her around the run, took her to the food and water (tid bitting), took her into the coop and into a nest box! He was making the purring sounds Cholo does when he helps the hens make their nest. When they came out Mama got pissed and started attacking the pullet and running her. The whole time Manolito is running after them, getting in between Mama and this pullet and actually wing dropped and circled Mama until she stopped. This is the first time I have ever seen a cockbird break up a hen fight.
ARAUCANA COCKS ARE THE BEST!
