Araucana thread anyone?

Ok, @Trish1974 and @Brahma Chicken5000 this is a little boy, isn't it... even though he was sold as a pullet.

And the cuckoo and paint, for good measure. LOL

The pictures aren’t great, but the legs look pretty thick.
I think the paint is a pullet.

Yep, I'm pretty certain the paint is a pullet. Yea, sorry about the lighting. I didn't get home until around 415 last night.

Honestly, I don't know about the blue one. I have a blue one just like him, 11 1/2 weeks old, that I am completely stumped on. So I guess I'm not much help this time around!

I'm mostly looking at those lovely dark wing bars. And waiting for saddle feathers to come out. I'm surprised, since the cuckoo's saddle is already forming. He's going to be really perty, even if his cuckoo pattern isn't very good.

@Frazzemrat1 how old is the blue one? It looks to be the same age as mine.

Mine does not have saddle feathers yet either or a red face, but his hatchmates (Mano's kids) do. However, Mano throws early developing cockerels, and this blue chick and his sister (who is splash) are my first chicks out of Blue Boy so I haven't had any other chicks to judge them by. He has three rows of peas, but they are pale.

My blue babies are 11 weeks this week.

@Trish1974 question... In your experience, can I have two cockerels for 7 hens/pullets when their araucana cockerels?
Yes. I kept 3 cockerels in with 3 hens/pullets last winter. When everyone became sexually mature, they automatically paired up (one male to one female) and there weren't any problems. They stayed that way until I set up breeding pens in March.
