I've had EE's for a while now, and I finally hatched some true araucanas! None have full tufts. Here are a few pics

This is one of my araucana pullets.

Here is a duck winged roo, unfortunately, partially tailed.

A blue araucana pullet. She is a real sweetie and comes up to the pen door every day to be picked up.

I'm hoping to purchase some eggs from Jody, I have a road trip planned.

Thanks. My pullets are just starting to lay. Beautiful blue eggs.

Hopefully, I'll be able to hatch out some tufted chicks from Jody and add the tufted gene to my line.

Coberdor,
I bought eggs from Lanae and I'm sooo happy with my chicks! I'm still learning to match chick color to adult colors and to identify the tufts on newly hatched chicks. I just love them. I ordered eggs from 2 other breeders (Jody and Ann Charles) as well to have a fair number that are further from being related. I hope to have mine sorted by next spring and have some of them matched up.

I have a couple of questions..

1) If all my birds are clean faced, but have tufted parents. Will my birds be able to produce chicks with tufts?
2) Out of 6 birds(all clean faced) two have tails and one has a partial tail(flips under not out) Will I be able to get rumpless birds if I breed them with a rumpless bird?
3) What about breeding two tailed birds, can they produce rumpless birds?

I need to post some pictures. They arent the best, but will have to do for now. All I have is my camera phone.

Really/ I've never heard of this sexing technique. Are you talking about all breeds of chickens, or just the Araucana?

I can vouch for the incorrectness of this... all 3 of mine had the same line in the middle, and 2 were cocks.
