The one on the far left is the one with the partial tail

This is the one I like the best. Until recently she was only black and white. Now shes starting to get a brownish red color on her wings

This was the other one I liked until he started getting brown on him as well. At first he was solid blue.

Sablevulpe,

Hi! Sexing by the eyestripe as I understood it, was about 99 percent correct and had to be done on new hatched chicks, just a few days old, and also would only work on the Wild Type was what I was told.

Want them? lol Thank you. My favorite one is the black and white one. Im not sure what color she is or is suppose to be. But I love her. Then the blue one. Im still learning..so Im not sure what all the different colors are called. I was hoping for solid colored birds, but that didnt happen. So Im hoping to find out a little about breeding and see if I can get close to what I want. As these 6 birds are all worth $100 plus. Seeing as how much Ive spent on buying eggs. From at least 5 dozen(and thats just off the top of my head) these are my only ones. And just my luck, no tufts!

If your birds do not have tufts, 99% of the time they will not produce tufts. I say 99% because every once in a while a bird will have internal tufts that you cant see. It is fairly rare. So basically if you don't have tufted birds you won't get tufted chicks.

Some people say tails are easy to get rid of and some say they are not. Can two tail birds have rumpless chicks? Not sure, since rumpless is dominate and tails are recessive I don't think so but I could have that backwards. Someone will correct me I am sure.

Thank you Cathy for your kind words about my eggs I shipped you and the babies you hatched. Congrats on your tufts. I was so nervous about shipping eggs after all the horror I had lived thru with ordering eggs. I am glad I could do good for you.

Some recent photos from around the farm.

Pullet Zephyr running across the bridge and a close up of her face. Her tufts flap like wings when she runs.
