Araucana thread anyone?

I was never really a fan of the Silvers until I hatched out a few silver Ameraucana's from Jean Ribbeck (spelling??) eggs. What a stunning variety - so dramatic in person. I love your silver girl Lanae and really wish that I could see her in real life. Very exciting progress in your birds - so much fun to watch!

I just got my "Blue Egg Clucker" in the mail - lots of photos from the National Meet!!!!!!! Wow oh wow, some amazing birds for sure.

Cindy - what a joy to read about your experience at the show!! I can only imagine the amount of work that went into getting you, your birds, and Rob all the way out there. I am so inspired! Lots more to read and I can't wait till this evening when the kids are in bed and i can eat up the info!!!

So I forgot to mention that two chicks hatched last night. Both from my duckwing pen. One is a pale golden colored with just faint chipmonk mark on its head. The other is the standard chipmonk color. They both hatched out of pullet eggs.

Ok this is the one that really has got me. And yes he has a tail

He and the white Roo came out of the same green / blue eggs. I am thinking that I do not want to add them to my breeding pen to keep the tail out. However what would I sell them as EE's?

The two Araucana chicks that I hatched out a few days ago are all black, rumpless, and cleanfaced. I wanted tufts!!!

But is happy that two that hatched and lived. Now my month-old blue rumpless, and cleanfaced roo will have two gals (hopefully) to be with.

It looks like that I will be breeding cleanfaced, rumpless Araucanas.

Just curious of your hatch percentage. Out of 32 eggs I got 6 that hatched and 5 that lived. 3 rumpless. And maybe 2 with tiny tiny tufts.

The first batch of shipped eggs- 1 out of 11 eggs hatched, 4 made to lockdown.

Tried again from the same seller- 2 out of 12 shipped eggs hatched, 6 made to lockdown.

Dang we have the same bad luck! I just bit the bullet and purchased ALL adult birds. I am not buying hatching eggs anymore. After $600 and little to show I was fed up. And this week I already got 4 blue eggs from my rumpless and one from my BLRW. I am hoping these will have 80-100% hatch success!

Good luck to you
