Araucana thread anyone?

Your chicks are so cute! Seeing them make me anxious for warm weather. Wish I could help you out on the color. I'm too new at this. I want cute rumpless babies!!
But Alas, there are few true Araucana breeders in MA.
Even the university which runs the local blue egg program (local farmers selling fresh blue eggs to whole foods stores), gets their chicks from a BIG hatchery. I thought for sure that they would have the real deal.
The clincher was when I asked if they were rumpless, and they weren't sure what I meant.

Hey Lanae,
I look forward to meeting you too. Do you know the show secretary to ask about a special meet?
This will be my first time to Stockton. Would you consider coming North to Oregon if we got the Araucana National in Stevenson?
I don't think I really am interested in running a table- planning to have fun at a show without a ton of responsibility for once. There's always a ton to do at our local shows and I rarely get the chance to just talk chicken!

Oregon would be awesome! What needs to happen for this to be? I have one bantam black pullet who did very well in the sanctioned Great Falls show here in Montana - I would try very hard to get over to Oregon to show her and if there was anything that I could do to aid, I would be very happy to jump in.

So I have been struggling with the whole which cabinet incubator to buy and I finally bit the bullet and ordered a Dickey 3 tray no hatcher incubator with acrylic window and added humidity bucket, and the Dickey 5 tray hatcher with acrylic window and added humidity bucket. They will be here next week. I can hardly wait.

I will send a photo when I get them here and get the eggs into it. I am almost at the point where I will have it half full right away I think.

Great choice.

I hear that they are very good type of incubators. Makes me wish I have some.

If you aren't a member of the Araucana Club of America, please join, then send me an email telling me you are willing to commit to show at the Stevenson show the third weekend in October 2012, unlike most breeds, we have just as strong a breeder/exhibition contingent on the West Coast as there are on the East Coast.

I have a friend who is interested in a good black large fowl araucana male. He needs to be true black- no red bleed through in the hackle, no white tips on his feathers. He must be tailless, need not be tufted. Looking for yellow bottoms of feet, a nice big boy, preferably with an OK comb- not a big floppy ugly one. Not much to ask for, I know. Anybody have a boy like this?

I am jealous already.
