Araucana thread anyone?

It is a Nikon D40. It would take even better pics if there was a better photographer behind the lens! It's not used to taking chickens pictures, as we bought it when my son was born 6 years ago - BEST $500 ever spent! And those guineas are about maybe 10 weeks old????

Just wanted to show off a little... these are my hatch from corborder! I got 7 in all, 1 great tufted, 2 single tufted, and the rest cleanfaced and all beautiful.

I love this one - VERY friendly and curious. My 3 year old named it Blackbeard.

Same chick...
If you get tired of this one, he would work great in my breeding pens! : )

Cackle Hatchery is advertising "Easter Egg Chickens
(Ameraucanas)". Just copied that off their ad. I love my little easter eggers, but I wished I'd known before I bought them. At least they are all pullets.
I wish people who buy from Cackle or any other hatchery would tell them about it when they buy something then find out it's not what they advertised.

This USED to be a nice bi-laterally tufted one until somebody got tuft envy! This is Edith.

This is Chickpea, also very sweet and quite petite.

Another single tuft. This one is beefy!

And just for fun check out my guinea's eyelashes!!! This was taken right before she decided to take me out. They are NOT fond of human contact!
I used to have Guinea. Such noisy pain in the you know what. Great watch dogs as they sound the alarm when people drive up. I had one that loved to be held. It also would race along side my son when he was driving his go cart, then when he stopped it would hop in and they would go tearing around the property.

Those are some gorgeous chicks! I love the barred chick ;)

I moved some of my younger ones to the larger brooder in the garage tonight so I had to snap some photo's since they were having so much fun looking around.

ah to have black rumpless double tufted chicks! a gal can dream! maybe next year? I've at least got all the ingredients now lol

As a side note, what does a solid black chick with a chipmunk stripe turn into?

So awhile back I posted a pic of this one, and the unanimous thought was rooster. However, he is now 16 weeks old, with NO crowing even though others his age are. He also is very mild mannered, no posturing of any sort, although he does have a bad leg from a dog attack. I *think* I see spurs coming in, though. But then I saw a pic of somebody's hen that had a comb just like this, even though my Araucana hens combs are WAY smaller. Do you all still think roo?

"Broccoli"

Also, do you think I could post her eggs on ebay as "Naked Neck Araucana" and get away with it because the pic cuts off her bum???!!! Just kidding! I just think those "Araucana" pics that cut off the rump are TOO funny! Seems someone could post just about anything and call it whatever they want.
