Araucana thread anyone?

I have tried 3 batches of eggs so far with no fertility. Ive trimmed up both hen & roo backsides so we'll see how round 4 goes. I'm dying to hatch chicks from this pair. It would be my first time having hatching eggs from my own birds.
Here another pic of roo.

Here is a better one of my hen.

There is something else in those other than Araucana... I can't figure it out, but they both have crests and feathered legs and feet...
Did you get them from a breeder?

I can't tell for sure if there's a fifth toe or not on the roo. If there is the he'd be a faverole mix, which would maintain the beard, would explain feathering on the shanks and feet, and the comb would be small.

Hi! I have a sweet rumpless tuftless wheaten araucana that ive paired with a nice looking roo of unknown origin (i found him at a feed store). His neck feathers look weird because i have a no-crow collar on him.
Not sure what his color is called - any guesses?
Also, does anyone think he is full araucana with the feather tufts on his head?
What color chickies might they hatch?
Thanks!

This pair is very atypical but very pretty. You say you're having trouble getting fertile eggs. I'm assuming the problem is thought to be the roos ability to fertilize? I would try artificially inseminating the hen with the roos semen to see if that works. Then you'll know for sure if their pairing will work and what they make.

What color are her eggs?

Beautiful chicks as always, Ash... :)
Depends on their actual sizes... going by averages, Araucanas are on the light end of lf and I believe Plymouth Rocks are on the heavier end... personally, I'd say no... unless he's on the lighter side and she's on the heavier side... general rule of thumb is large hens for large roos...
That sucks... sorry to hear that, draye... do you have any eggs left in the bator now?

No eggs left.

The 45 from the Araucana rooster were infertile and another 49 from different runs were also infertile.

I figured the hatch rate as 86.85% based ex on the number if actual fertile eggs.

The hen came from a good breeder. I saw all the parent stock & bought hatching eggs. There were tufted & tuftless but all rumpless.
She lays turquoise blue eggs.

The roo is a mystery. I found him at a local feed store. I fell in love with his coloring. At the time, i thought only araucanas were rumpless but i am learning that us not necessarily true.
He has such dark skin but only 4 toes on each foot.
He has a small crest and itty bitty stunted feathers coming iut of his comb.
I'll see if he'll cooperate for a close-up.

Is it possible that it's a Manx Rumpy?

My guess is that they're mixed with Silkie. That head on the rooster looks so Silkie to me. Dark skin feathered legs and crests, all point at Silkie heritage.

I looked on the Manx rumpy, a British bird not in US yet. There is an Italian bird bred to resemble them that are here but not APA called a Persian Rumpy although sold as Manx Rumpy. Manx Rumpy were developed on the Isle of Man (Manx) and lay anything from white, blue, and green eggs. They have a comb, are typically clean faced and bantam sized. They are also on the conservation watch list.
