So at 1:00 am I was awaken by VERY loud chirping. I looked in and this chick had about a 1/4" rectangle busted out of the shell. When I got up at 6:30, there he or she was. It was out of a Willow Acres egg... labeled BBS but hatched duckwing!!! Seriously...how do you MISLABEL your hatching eggs?! :he I'm not mad, I just find it ridiculously incompetent! Especially with all the other BS I went through with trying to get those eggs!

that is not as bad. a friend of mine hatched bresse with feathered feet. yours at least is pure breed.

Kind of a disappointing hatch. As of right now I have 5 chicks (out of 35 eggs) and one chick has been zipped since 2:00 am but not making progress. I can see its beaks breathing through the zip. I don't know if it needs help or not, and I don't know how to help anyway.
I'm really pissed at the manufacturer of my incubator because their instructions said to keep humidity between 45-55%. As I read random threads here people were saying to keep it in the 30s. By that time I was halfway through the incubation process. My air cells were way too small going in to lockdown, indicating too high humidity. Oh, and I just realized I miscalculated my days. I locked them down on the 19th day, not the 18th day. Don't know how much that affected the hatch (or lack of).
Also, it appears no one is tufted. At least I didn't hatch anything with a tail.
Feeling pretty bummed this morning. :(

humidity was fine. I don't know why some incubators are not good. mine sucks too. my incubator cannot keep temperature stable. I can use it late spring to early autumn only.
