Araucana thread anyone?

You could put the clean faced Blue Araucana hen in with Cholo and see if her eggs are fertile.
I'd like to leave her in with Blue; at least until I get a Mini-Blue to hatch. I want another male just like him for back up!

I think all 5 chicks that survived my first hatch are male :hmm. All but one are showing red in their combs and wattles already except for one... and that one is frickin' huge! Its a Willow Acres baby, the first egg that hatched that I named Uno. He has a chest on him like a Cornish X! I wasn't going to keep any clean faced males, but between his size and his color I think I will keep him. I'm pretty sure he'll be blue, but he's a light blue. Almost silvery. I have no experience with splash birds so maybe he'll be splash? :idunno

Did any of the Cuckoo Araucana eggs from Willow Acres hatch?
Also how’s the mottling looking on the chicks?

Nope - not a one of the cuckoo eggs hatched.
The chicks are looking about the same. Their wing feathers are growing in. The tufted one has a few solid white primaries (for now).

I don't think Ratchet's eggs are going to hatch. :(
I saw her off the nest so I ran in there to take a peek at her nest (since she moved it and rearranged it), and saw the six eggs spread out in a semi-circle. There was nothing underneath them except the slick plastic of the floor of the coop. She had the straw built up around her, but nothing underneath (just like Bonita did and her eggs didn't develop). If she just would have left the damn nest I made her alone!!! :he

Maybe they will hatch. Candle the eggs just to be sure. Does the coop Ratchet’s in have nest boxes in it? If it does maybe move her into the nest box with the eggs at night.

Yep, she was originally in a nest box (without straw) and when I added the eggs I also added a bunch of straw, and the next morning she had moved everything out onto the coop floor.
