Araucana thread anyone?

*sigh* I recandled the questionable eggs last night and they are no good. Of course most of them were the ones I most wanted to hatch (Blue Boy and his DT blue hen). I date my eggs, and it looks like he didn't start fertilizing them until half way through I was collecting eggs. I DID verify fertility before I started saving eggs...so I'm not sure what happened.

Today my first batch of chicks turn 6 weeks old. I will try to get pictures if it stops raining, and if I can get the little crackheads to hold still for 3 seconds.

I supposedly have someone coming to get one of the hens I got in Nancy's batch today. I'm pretty sure she's a bantam/LF cross. Bigger than Lil' Girl, but smaller than the others. She has no breedable qualities, and is mean to Lil' Girl. I let LG and her chick in with the rest of the flock to mingle a bit a few nights ago and the hen I'm getting rid of just beat the crap out of her and separated her from her chick. "Oh hell no, you are NOT going to come up in here as an outsider and beat up my mama hen and scare her chick!" So I snapped some pictures of her and put her on Craigslist!

Sorry to hear about that and the eggs... Glad you're getting rid of the forceful one. Sounds like she's a bully all the way.
