Araucana thread anyone?

In Orthodox Jewish circles the dating scene is done in a bit of a unique way. It’s hard to explain, but you submit a resume to the matchmaker and she sends you the resume of someone who looks like a good match for you and then you meet in person and it goes from there.

when I was young I hated things like that. today I think young people do need help in choosing life partner - as it is for the rest of life.

Yesterday was day 7 for the 10 eggs in the bator. 4 of the 10 are growing. :yesss:
I don't plan to toss the other 6 until at least day 14, just in case they're late starters.

The breeds my roo was 'successful' with are Cream Legbar, Norwegian Jaerhon, and Naked Neck. I most desired successful mating with the Legbar, but I'm SUPER excited about the Naked Neck.

NAKED NECK, REALLY? How did my Araucana roo accomplish that? She's a BIG BIRD! :clap I wonder what THAT offspring will look like?!!!! I really love the Naked Neck breed. They're like puppies and seem to really enjoy human company.

I have an ameraucana/NN cross. she is 1 of my favourite girls. the only problem is she has a 3 feather tail covering her vent so her eggs were not fertile.

unfortunately the black araucanas I wanted got tails. I feel like crying. the girl has huge thick tufts - and a tail. the boy is double tufted as well and has a bunch of side feathers that look like a tail.

clean faced ones are rumpless but have muffs.

the guy will be selling his breeders soon. I hope to choose some nice araucanas.

mottling is a recessive gene so both roo and hen must be mottled.
Both parents are recessive. Well, Manolito is questionable on whether he is a carrier showing the gene, or if he is truly mottled with low expression. If he is truly mottled, I'll still only get 50% of the chicks to show mottling. If he is a carrier only, then only 25% of the chicks will be mottled. I did hatch a fully mottled chick out of these two last month, but unfortunately he died. :( I was hoping to get a fully mottled pullet out of this pair this year so I could breed her back to Manolito next year.

Here's what the local breeder has. Some of them look off, even tailed.
