Araucana thread anyone?

He looks blue duckwing to me. Though the color isn't perfect I don't think that is leakage... looks too patterned. I'm thinking one of his parents had some e+ in their background. If so, :thumbsup.

You know, I went to Ann's site and looked again, closer, at gold duckwing. I think you may be right. His wing bars are messy, but he's got the gold in all the right places. Now I wish I had a GDW pullet to breed him with! LOL.

I'm thinking I need to buy a cheap coop to separate one of the boys and a pullet/hen of choice as a breeding pen. I'd be interested to see what Garrus (the blue DW) and Sera (the salmon-ish pullet) would come up with. She's a mix: Her father Rex was a BBR x White and her mother was a SDW.
Then there's Ahsoka; who's a white bantam.
or Tex; who's a BBR over a Lav Ameraucana.
LOL
Too bad the favorite right now is my dark brahma!

Awesome! Then you should get some duckwings from your first breeding! Twelve percent, I believe (you may want to play with the kippenjungle calculator to know for sure), possibly 25%. Then just start breeding your duckwing offspring and there you go... you got your own duckwing line!! :thumbsup

Just got these pics of a juvenile pair I sold last November. Both were about 12 weeks old at the time. The male is out of Blue and the blue hen in my avatar. He turned out GORGEOUS and not a stitch of leakage anywhere! This was the only male chick I hatched from the pair last year, so it was so good to see how he turned out!

As a chick:

Wattles are a little big, but other than that I am SO pleased with how he turned out! Can't wait for these old broads to start laying so I can get some eggs in the incubator!

Thank God all is well. How are you?

Alright here in Ct. Officially it hasn't reached our side of the state, but unofficially, I'm sure its here.
Schools closed, people self quarantining themselves. One of my coworkers' wife is self quarantined, but he's coming to work... at odd hours to avoid being around people. Life is getting interesting.
