I suspect someone is going to become a hen soon. Comb is reddening everyday.
This gal got some green grass today and is getting there as well... Excited to see what color egg she'll turn out.

Six week old araucana chick
I suggest skyblueeggsNo commercial hatchery sells Araucanas. Profit margin is not there. They'll state, these birds are derived from Araucanas/Ameraucanas but it's all BS. Their way of marketing to unsuspecting new chicken owners. Mypetchicken, Cackle and Meyer finally started carrying true Ameraucanas last few years. All other still market EE as Ameraucana/Americana/Araucana/etc. If you want Araucanas, you will have to seek out an Araucana breeder. Ask tons of questions, if they are passionate about their birds they will be willing to share. Most mean people planning to just make a buck will not be able to answer your questions or will get offended when you ask them about their breeding practices. If can not explain their breeding practices, they are not a breeder - just a backyard chicken owner. They are no better than commercial hatcheries - maybe even worse.
So my friend got 10 eggs. 7 made it to lockdown. 3 hatched. That's 30% hatch on shipped eggs. They tend to die in shell at the end unfortunately. I can find out who she bought them from. I think it was someone in GA.

I was looking at them, but skyblueeggs didn't look like anything was updated and that makes me worried, and from what I read, it sounded like AwesomeArucana is done or severely smaller after this yearI suggest skyblueeggs

Or awesome araucana
https://www.awesomearaucana.com/
as a breeder choice.

Very Nice looking little Araucana!! Did she come from your own eggs? I have been looking for someone that has Solid Black Aruacanas near me. Do you sell hatching eggs or chicks?
I love my babies. I wasn't complaining. I thought it was pretty good for shipped especially since most were fertile. The eggs you are talking about came from me. The Araucana is extremely hard to hatch due to the Lethal Gene they care. This recent Feedback is from one person I shipped 18 eggs to: Had an excellent hatch, 11 healthy chickies, thanks! This would be a 61% hatch rate which is a Great Hatch rate for Shipped Araucana Eggs.
