Are 12 eggs too many for this particular pullet?

I put 12 eggs under a pullet yesterday. Today I noticed that she was only covering about half of them, the others had rolled into the shavings.

Usually my broodys are aware of the eggs and pull them all underneath themselves. If this continues after today should I just remove some of them? Any way to encourage her to be more attentive to all the eggs?

She's in a large dog crate. I put a plastic basket in the back half, laid a towel in the bottom then shavings in an attempt to keep them all together.

sometimes pullets can't cover as many eggs as other hens, i'd take some away so she could focus on covering the eggs she can

It depends on the size of the hen. I'd take a few and maybe leave 6-8 eggs, especially as she is young and this is her first time.
