Are all chickens the same?

That is chickens for you they love you based on how much food you got. Seriouly though, if you ever have questions just ask. We all were new to chickens once.:)
Oh yea it's a different story when I go In with bread! I have flying chickens jumping chickens chickens yelling at chickens everyone is my friend with food till it's gone lol

But now that I know chickens stuff their faces before they Go to bed I'll be looking at that spot a little differently now. And not necessarily jump to groping a chicken

Can I give you some friendly advice from an old lady?
X-na on the bread-na. Yes they like it but it CAN cause problems with their crops. And Iffin you got one that already has a large crop it’s really not a good thing to do. I should of asked you that at the start of your thread.
There are so many other treats that are good for them that won’t endanger their crops or digestive tract.
Heck I get a 10lb. Bag of black oil sunflower seeds at Walmart for like 9$.
Please rethink giving them bread ok?

... I happen to pet a barred rock... And she has a big ole breast.... I immediately thought omg my chicken is egg bound... just imagine... this poor chicken trying to figure out why I'm man handling her...

If your rocks lump is on the right side of her breast then it is almost sure the lump is her crop or 1st stomach.

Is it any wonder then that you hen runs when she sees you coming?

Lol you guys! Yea I dont typically give them bread unless we dont finish it in the house. Last couple weeks we've had cucumbers..and we love pumpkins  I tried sunflower seeds once cuz I read it here on another post and they pecked at them wiped their beaks on the ground and left them :lau

Also guys any tips that are not bread but duck friendly? I've done the above yogurt lettuce cabbage. Did a tomato once they basically played cant catch me with it but now I have ducks in the mix

Superworms and raisins are popular here. Cantaloupe or any kind of melon gets gone pretty quickly too.:)

Mine won’t eat cantaloupe but they love the innards. They’ll eat carrots that come in premixed salads (matchsticks) but not those from food processor. They won’t eat cabbage but coleslaw they love. They might peck at oatmeal but they love the steel cut oats.
Their spoiled.

Sounds very familiar! These here will eat cantaloupe and watermelon but only about half will eat honeydew. Everybody likes superworms save be for one and she has to have mealworms. And most spoiled the rooster wont eat raisins he likes crasins.:lau

Don’t worry. For MONTHS I thought the crop had to be in the throat and I’d pat myself on the back for checking to make sure none of my girls had some kind of bulging throat. I literally thought I was was supposed to be on the lookout for impacted crop there. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Everyone starts with zero knowledge. It’s only up from here!
