Are Cats a problem?

Hey, I have had cat's and Chicken's since I was little and they allwal get along. Some times the cats might stalk the chickens but I have never had one catch any the cat I have now is a year old and is still scared of the chickens .
Good luck

My house cat would run away in terror from the chickens, but I lost one of my grown hens to a large stray tom cat last weekend :( They hadn't even been running out of the coop 30 minutes that morning either...

We have three cats. None bother the chickens. If anything the rooster gives them a run for their money when he’s feeling feisty LoL but for the most part they can all be found sun bathing together.

We took in a large tom cat from a family member. The first time they were out together the cat tried to stalk and jump on a hen. They fought back and the cat took off. After a time or too of that the cat has never bothered the hens, it's been over a year now an no issues.

We have a neighbor cat that stalks and watches our two hens from atop the privacy fence. Hens are about 5 months old and almost as big as the cat. Free ranging Buff Orpington and a Speckled Sussex. I keep an eye on them and shew the cat away when I see it. Hoping they will eventually tolerate each other but am always cautious.
