ARE CHICKEN EGGS FERTILE AFTER 14DAYS!!!

Hi everyone this is long winded but 35days ago i gave some of my chicken eggs to someone on the allotment to say thanks. Then three weeks ago eggs were stolen from my coops on my allotment. The people who i gave the eggs to hatched all six today (but they would be 35days old) and a better hatch rate than my own full incubator is this åossible or have i found my egg thieves thanks

There could be a small chance the eggs were viable for 14 days before incubating for 21 days which would equal 35 days total. Its a small chance, but mother nature doesn't follow rule books and so it could be possible but unlikely. 3 weeks, however, seems more appropriate of a time frame for someone to have such a successful hatch from.
