Are Cuckoo Marans Auto Sexing?

I chose out of about 8 chicks. They all looked the same. Not that I looked that hard. I knew if I didn't choose quickly and go I'd be wanting to buy them ALL.

So do you think he could be Maran/Wyandotte cross??

I love this chick already. Who cares what he is. But I did kind of want a Maran.
I bought a LS too but he definitely seems to be one.

To know if it's a cross, you'll have to wait, & watch how the feather pattern, & coloring start to show.

With comb not matching a Maran, my bet is mixed breed...but you may still get the desirable traits you were looking for in the mix...like mixed breed cats and mixed breed dogs some of my best chickens were mixed breeds

So I have just looked at his ad again.
He was selling Cuckoo Maran chicks, Light Sussex, Buff Orp and Welsummers....
He was also selling hatching eggs.
Silver Laced Wyandottes amongst a couple others.
Probably a mix up.
This chick has a few wing feathers coming in now that look like Maran feathers. But he def. looks like a SLW chick.

You were right. He is a CM × SLW. He has feathers coming in, Maran feathers. But he must be Wyandotte too because he looks so much like the chicks.
Haven't seen any that look SLW yet, but probably won't be long.
