As long as your dogs are good with other birds they should be fine with newcomers as long as ya keep them penned for a while so the dogs get use to them being there.

i have 6 dogs to watch over my flock and they will run off any other bird that may fly in as they don't allow strange critters in the safe zone.

ya just got to make sure the dogs do not flush the birds till they are use to their area ,otherwise they may fly off in all directions because they are scared.

My dogs only herd and flush on command so it is not a problem here.

How much area do you have for them to range?

Mine cover alot of ground here and go the farthest in early morning and late afternoon, they are like ghost they can disappear in a matter of minutes.

Zazouse, Oh my gosh your dogs are so sweet to not eat your peas. Mine would kill them in a second. I have to be so careful they don't get out.

I have 9 dogs and none of them bother my birds. However when my doberman was a puppy she would go after anything, and she killed many a bird. She grew out of killing them and is now perfectly fine. really it just depends on the dog as the others said.
