Are ducks ever NOT hungry?

Mine splash so much water from their swimming pool, though it has a ramp for them to walk down. And talk about getting it dirty?? It has to be cleaned nearly every other day. Thank goodness their drinking water runs through PVC pipes with holes cut out every so many feet; they also have a waterer with flat ports of access, yet....

Our solution was so,ple and found on here. Under the bed boxes with wood attached on sides. They slide off and on. The ducks can move them a bit to get more water on one side or the other. It helps keep the splashing down greatly! And I layer the hay up around the boxes to soak up the excess water. Works for us!

Today I tried to keep the ducks in the barn doing my chores around them. I thought perhaps I’d start a new routine of keeping them in until 10 or so, to maybe see if we would get an egg. Well, with me shuffling around to do the rabbits, refill duck water, etc..the poor ducks were stressed, rabbits got out, ( which happens occasionally but NOT like today). Anyway. I have decided to just let it all be. Wherever the ducks are laying is fine. We have plenty of chickens. Perhaps in the spring we will get eggs once there are less drakes and the hens will have less stress and more daylight. For now they get to enjoy what little days we do have because I got ducks to be able to be outside and enjoy our big farm! :). Hopefully they’ll find a bug and eat less too. Lol. If you look on top the cages, you can see Uncle George...somehow, he jumped from his cage—- to on top of all of those hutches on the wall!! Luckily he is extremely tame and came right to me to get him down! Always crazy at C&D Farming!

Our Pekin is definitely the pig of the flock but no complaints because she is the only one consistently laying right now.
Mine too. I have 3 that were hatched April 29th and honestly they have laid me the biggest most beautiful eggs daily since they started laying. Because of their appetite and love for salads they have been appropriately named Kim, Khloe and Kourtney.
