Are ducks ever NOT hungry?

Wow mine have slowed way down last year and yr before my Runners mated year round this year they are all taking a break. I know once days start getting longer things will change but it's nice for now. When did your females hatch this year? my oldest that hatched this year hatched April 24th and haven't started laying yet.

No ones confined...they were confined two days due to thanksgiving. They are let out every morning until dark. I have tried to let them out around 8:30 to see if I’d get an egg, ever..but no. We just don’t care about the eggs anymore...I just worry I’m not doing something right
Yes..Too many Drakes and the hens might be done till spring or stressed out..

I have not read all replies, but seriously, I think my ducks will eat as much as I give them no matter what. They are pigs compared to my chickens. My husband came home and said the ducks were raising a ruckus and he thinks they want food (they'd already had a lot of food). I said they are just greeting you and if you open a window they are quiet now. They learn to beg. Also the wild critters learn of the all your can eat buffet and the more I put out, the more food that disappears, and it's not' 'just' the ducks.

I got my first ducks in March...and then it progressed, but they were all born this year except Eileen the call ducks, that we gave away. I know that one of the two calls was laying before coming here because we got the ducklings. The ducklings and another batch of pekins we bought were bornSept 12
