Are my eggs full of bacteria? :(

Also, I would like to add that I was indeed looking for advice. Thanks for everyone's.

Did you know that there's a section of BYC just for turkeys? If you go to the index menu and scroll down you'll see it. You might be able to get good advice from people with more experience of turkey incubating over there. This section is mostly for chickens and I'd imagine that many of the people who have given you advice here have never actually incubated or candled a turkey egg for themselves, and may not have realised or remembered that the incubation period for turkeys is longer than for chickens, and that a day 14 turkey embryo isn't necessarily going to look similar to a day 14 chicken embryo...

I've never incubated turkey eggs myself. Which is why I have refrained from giving an opinion. LOL!

Haha, yes I did indeed. Ive posted many questions in that section. Posted there first with my day 10 pictures. Few responses, none of which were particularly informative. This post was a last ditch effort to get some kind of idea about things.

I have 10 turkey eggs that are on day 15 and I just candled them. Your eggs look similar to mine. I always try to look for movement but I know its really hard, depending on how dark the shell, how bright the candling light and how good your/my eyes!

By day 14/15, you should be able to see some movement. If I don't see movement, I don't cull it right then. I try again the next day or maybe a little later on. Maybe it was just sleeping??

I've had that happen too where I was sure if I had a quitter, so I marked the egg in pencil with a "?" and the next time, it was just fine.
Good luck! I just love my turkeys!!!!

I hope everything is coming along fine, any progress to report ??.

As of last night, three of them (3,4,and 5) have movement and veins, with # 5 being the most active. I dont know if that means anything. But I have a pretty cool video of it. I'd post it, but cant figure out how to format it after I edited out the part until it started moving and muted it to get rid of the Golden Girls in the background. haha. #2 still looks the same as the pictures. But in #1 the dark is getting bigger....????? I still cant see any veins, but it definitely looks different that the picture and I think I can see an eye. But I dont see movement as far as I can tell. I have no idea what that means as well. None stink yet. My three 9 day eggs that I put a picture of one on one of the reply posts are still developing well with nice vein systems going through them. I just hope I dont kill them now.

I would say that I agree with you OP, 3,4,and 5 look good. 1 and 2 I am not so sure about but with my turkey eggs which are 13 days along they look about the same as yours do right now. I would give 1 and 2 a few more days and see what happens with them if they do not stink and they are not leaking. If they continue to grow in size and change in shape, then I would leave them in there even if you do not see movement. I never throw anything out unless I am 100% sure it is dead.
