Are my hens moulting?

I have 7 chickens total and my buckeyes are the oldest at 3 years old. They have never moulted before so I have no experience with it. Or is it something else? I have checked for mites in the coop they came from and in the medic coop they are in now. No sign of them. And before you start in on me I know chicken wire isn’t effective against some predators that’s why I’m building a new coop with hardwire cloth, predator apron and bird netting.

Yep, looks like molting to me. Mine don't do it every year and some years are worse than others. At one point my RIR was so very ugly! She looked like pin cushion with all the new feathers growing out of almost bare skin. No sign of mites or other problems, just losing feathers. My juveniles are going through a growing up molt right now and the coop looks like a pillow fight. I think the heat is a factor for my birds this year.
