There are very few veggies that I don't absolutely love. Working on learning to love egg plant! Can't tolerate okra. It's just too slimy, though little bits of it in soup are fine. Meat is more of a "condiment" for me here, though occasionally, I have a "must have meat" fest. Can't do super hot spicy. Jalapeno, Habanero and such.

Mine were raised in a back yard in the City... in a paddock about twenty by twelve... I adopted them and brought them to the country where they lived with me as brush eaters for about ten years... One Pygmy and three Nigerian Dwarfs.

Main diet was Alfalfa... One bale every two weeks...

well i have enough land but not as much as i would like for goats

i have never tried goat rabbit or quail and i do not plan to because with foods i either really like it or i feel like im gonna vomit
I have and if you dont know you wouldnt realize what it was... when I was fourteen I cooked rabbit for my mom and dad... Dad loved it... His family were share croppers lived off the land and what they could raise for food. Mom not so much... It tasted like dark meat chicken. so would quail but I never had it.

Goat tasts more like Lamb crossed with Vennison... You eaither love it or you dont. Not a fan myself though I will try it again so see if a different recipe would be better.

You ever slice the okra roll it in cornmeal and fry it? It's not nearly as slimy and its really good. Neat okra fact, that mucilage in okra is a very good hair conditioner. ;)

I am a Californian born and raised Dad was from the south.... One of his favorite dinners was Okra sliced up and cooked with stewed tomatoes... Then stirred into a bowl of grits and topped with Bacon pieces... Salt and pepper.... I love it that way

But by far the best okra is just as you describe it... tossed in Corn meal and fried in Bacon grease... Oh yum...

Eggplant Parmesan is a staple in this house. The kids adore it. Okra is just gross, just can't get past that slime:sick. Most of our meat is home raised or wild game.

Been considering getting goats for a while now. This makes me think it might just be do-able. Just not sure if I'm ready to commit to a milking schedule.
Also have been considering small pigs. Would be nice to have something other than chicken and rabbit for meat.
