Need fainting chickens to go along with them, eh?
A friend has one of those fainting goats. I didn't know about them until I pulled into the driveway and blew the horn for my friend and the dang goat turned to run, froze up and fell over! I thought I killed the damn thing. After it was explained to me that they just do that, I always wanted one.

i know my neighbour has pygmy goats and there soo cute
I have a friend with a little black pair of them.

That's hilarious! I bet your heart nearly stopped.

i really want goats but i dont have enough land
Different goats require different sizes of land. 2 Nubian weathers were way to much for my 1 acre. They were a lot of fun, sweet and lovable boys! :love Nigerians might have been better, but we are past that adventure for now. It's great to be aware of your desires but also the animals needs. :thumbsup

what gives you the right to steal another animal's freedom and life for the sake of a tasty snack you don't really need? what do you think the chickens would say about it if they could speak? you have many easier and cheaper options
The law actually give me the right. :old

I think a chicken would say "bawk"! ;)

My options are none of your business, but thanks for your concern. I truly believe it's awesome that you wanna protect the animals. :highfive:

Sorry, I believe in creation and don't think a fish walked out of the sea. We process plenty of RAW meat. Just 2 days ago we spent $100 for my family to eat sushi/sashimi and whatever else they were served. (Sorry Athena, I know your family is struggling and YES I've been there, PM me for support) What do you think rare steaks are.. raw, just warm. So ya, it's not about more affordable options for me. I ate an Oregon Kobe Beef burger, medium rare for $12. We aren't set by any means, but we don't go hungry or think twice about what we spend on food. It is part of our life.

Like so many things in chicken keeping, what works for some will not work for others. Even though I've seen myself trend more towards vegetarian than not, wishful of vegan but more realistically human, I hope I can remember my roots and not get all snobby and hateful towards others who don't do as I say.

One final point... don't think I haven't had a chicken drink my blood or think about pecking me to death (even try, just let them see an open wound) and then cannibalizing me with all their buddies I've been feeding and caring for, for years. :smack

OK, no more blah blah stuff from me... Can't we all just be friends?:pop

Don't feed the trolls. ;)

I don't have goats yet, but I'm getting them to clear brush on my property. I have big problems with an invasive tree/bushy thing that they happen to love-love-love. I'm a tad worried about poisoning from other things, but there's really not much on my land that is on the list of goat toxins. :fl
