Are POLISH CRESTEDS really lazy layers or do I have a DUD?

Please pardon my serious misconception. If hatchery Polish are so non - standard, are they indeed Polish?

To rephrase myself, all of the Polish that I have had experience with have had a highly varied level of egg production similar to my experiences with hatchery bred EE.

As much so as any other hatchery chicken. (hatchery BR vs "heritage" BR, hatchery Houdan vs show Houdan) For some there's a drastic difference, others not much. Either way they're still technically Polish


I have over 14 Polish from 4 different hatcheries, all have the same egg production that matches nearly all my other hatchery hens. Good all year except in the winter after their first year.

Actually, my Polish are some of the most dependable layers in our flock. They did take longer to start laying compared to our other breeds of pullets though.

Might be other things keeping her from laying, molt, mites, worms, etc.
