Are red combs always a laying sign

I got my first cornish bantam egg! Now I just want to know who laid it. I have four pullets, and one has a redder comb than the others. I tried the whole leg spacing trick and all four were about the same width.

I guess knowing doesn't really matter, I'm just curious. I've been waiting for these eggs since the chicks came in early March

Very likely the most mature and hormonal is the one laying. Are you referring to vent spacing ?
They're all the same age and I haven't seen any tells in them getting more hormonal besides the reddish tiny on one comb

Possibly? I've been told about putting your fingers between the legs to see how far apart they were.

It works for my other birds, but it must just be how wide these girls are, I for the life if me can't find a difference in any of them.

I'm so proud, I got another egg. I'm thinking it's not from the same girl since I've heard that these ones only lay once or twice a week, but still
:wee:woot:wee
I have a golden laced wyandotte who lays practically every 26 hours. The internet says that they are only supposed to lay 4 a week. Don't listen to it! Your eggs could be a different girl, or the same.

I heard that the more eggs they lay, the less purebred they are.
